Business Spotlight – The Five B’s Liquidation and Crafts

May 31, 2024 08:50AM ● By Dave Molleck

Jennifer and James started the “Five B’s Liquidation and Crafts” in 2023 and in May they moved to their new location at 602 Fifth St. in Pekin.  At this new location they have room to display their products and much needed warehouse space. Their plan was to bring quality products at discounted prices to the community. Jennifer had previously worked in big box stores, and she was aware of the struggles that manufactures have with excessive merchandise. The manufactures sometimes decide to liquidate their products to wholesalers rather than absorbing the cost of warehousing and potential damaged from storage.

This is where Jennifer and James’ business model comes into play.  They look for the higher quality merchandise that’s usually reserved for the upper end stores.  With the bulk purchases, they can offer new name brand merchandise at a 25–40% discount. Unlike some thrift type of  stores, the items at “Five B’s” have not been previously purchased and returned.

The name of the store might be a little different, but the products in the store are not.  When you first walk into Five B’s, you’ll notice an array of useful items from manufacturers that you trust.  These are not “knock off” brands.  The same cell phone case that I paid $50 for; they have for $5.

There are seasonal items such as lawn chairs, coolers, and home decorating, as well as cosmetics, bedding, and toys.

What about the name Five B’s? Jennifer and James have both been previously married and they have five children between them.  All their names begin with a “B”— hence the name Five B’s Liquidation and Crafts.  You owe it to yourself to come look through this unique store.  There are bargains to be found on name-brand products.  So, bring a friend and enjoy the adventure of shopping bargains at Five B’s Liquidation and Crafts.
