The YWCA of Pekin was founded in 1928 and has been serving the Pekin community since. We are currently at 315 Buena Vista Ave., snuggled between the Pekin Public Library and the United State Post Office. Many things have changed over the last 96 years, but one thing that hasn't changed is our desire to serve our community well. The YWCA of Pekin offers various services to Pekin and the surrounding communities, as well as visitors to the area. We are home to a 91 child Early Learning Center that serves children 6 weeks – 5 years. Our Early Learning Center does accept Child Care Connection, DCFS as well as private pay students. DCFS and NAEYC have rated our Early Learning Center as a Gold Standard, which is the highest rating a childcare center can receive. 

We also offer an Adult Literacy Program which serves individuals seeking their GED, higher education, citizenship, and ELL/ESL programs. All programs through the Adult Literacy Program are free thanks to support from the Illinois Secretary of State, Dollar General, AARP, and many others. YWCA of Pekin's Coalition for Equality offers over 800 snack packs a month to the area schools, as well as programs that support our equity mission. We are also host to many land fitness classes that are SilverSneakers endorsed. These exercises are low impact and paced workouts to allow people of all abilities to participate. 

One of the pride and joys of the YWCA of Pekin is our indoor warm water therapy pool open year round. This pool is host to aqua aerobics classes throughout the day, swim lessons, open swim, lap swim, and adaptive aquatics. Our pool has been in the Pekin community since 1959! We invite everyone to come in and check out our facility and join the YWCA of Pekin family.

We are currently looking to expand our teaching staff in the Early Learning Center. We are also currently hiring lifeguards, swim instructors, and looking to expand our land fitness staff.
