IN THE SPOTLIGHT – Local Guy Builds a Future

Aug 28, 2024 01:47PM ● By Dave Molleck

Nick Mucciante grew up and went to school here in Pekin. Like many all-American teens, Nick liked motorcycles, cars, and hunting. His dad worked in the construction business, so Nick was familiar with the trades. With his knowledge of the trades and his mechanical aptitude, Nick decided to pursue a career in the Heating and Air Conditioning trade (HVAC). Nick attended Illinois Central College and was accepted in the apprentice program and was soon working in the HVAC business.

While working in HVAC for a local company, Nick was able to learn the details of the business while at the same time honing his skills as a technician. After several years of working for others, Nick decided to take a leap of faith. In 2016 Nick decided to start his own business and built Mucciante Heating and Cooling. Over the last eight years, Nick has overcome obstacles and worked many hours trying to fulfill his dreams. He purchased Jackson Heating and Air and grew Mucciante Heating and Cooling to what it is today. Nick employs nine people, and they work throughout a 35-mile radius of Pekin. They do both commercial and residential HVAC work and have added plumbing to their list of services being offered. They now do water softeners, whole house filtration, well sampling, sump pumps and emergency services, and many more. They also offer maintenance programs to help budget future repairs and ease tension.

Nick said they currently use Tempstar, and Fraser-Johnson products for heating and cooling. For hot water heaters they use the Bradford White brand units, and for tankless hot water heaters they use the Navien brand.

HVAC might not be glamorous work but it’s necessary. Heating and cooling are essential for comfort, but it’s also needed for medical reasons where people must stay in a temperature-controlled environment. HVAC technicians also work on refrigeration units which are essential to prevent food spoilage in commercial locations such as restaurants. It’s nice that we have Mucciante Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing here to help with those necessities. It’s also nice to hear about a local high school guy who followed his dreams and utilized his abilities to start a business that is beneficial to the community.

The next time you need service or want to upgrade your furnace, air conditioner, or have plumbing issues, call Nick’s team at Mucciante Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing. They’re located here in Pekin on Brenkman Drive. They’re here to help!
