During a reception last month, hosted by Fidlar Technologies of Davenport, Iowa, the Tazewell County Clerk & Recorder of Deeds Office received awards for "Veterans Honor Rewards Program Enrollment" and "Property Fraud Alert Enrollment."

"Our office is extremely proud to receive this recognition of our work from our colleagues" stated Tazewell County Clerk & Recorder of Deeds John C. Ackerman. "Our office continually strives to deliver nothing short of the best service possible to the citizens of Tazewell County, and this recognition serves as a visual representation of the success of that continued effort."

The Veterans Honor Rewards Program is a FREE service for all Tazewell County Veterans offered by the Tazewell County Recorder of Deeds Office thanks to our Land Records Management contract with Fidlar Technologies. The program gives the Veteran an identification card listing the location of their DD-214, which is filed with a Recorder of Deeds Office within the State and is required for some military services including a military funeral. The program also provides the Veteran with a listing of businesses that offer Military and Veteran Discounts, providing this advertisement of their services for FREE to any Central Illinois business.

Property Fraud Alert is a FREE service offered by the Tazewell County Recorder of Deeds Office thanks to our Land Records Management contract with Fidlar Technologies. The program sends the property owner a notification anytime anyone makes a change to their property records filed with the Recorder of Deeds Office. The FBI has identified Property Fraud as the fastest-growing White Collar Crime in the United States.

The "Honor Rewards Program Enrollment" and "Property Fraud Alert Enrollment" awards are in recognition of the highest enrollment in the program by any county in Illinois in 2024. This is the second year in a row the Tazewell County Clerk & Recorder of Deeds Office has received the "Property Fraud Alert Enrollment" award.

As for the Veteran's Honor Rewards Program award, growing and expanding this program was a priority of the Vital Statistics Division this year. Over 100 new business partners were added in 2024 and, as can be witnessed with this award, hundreds of Tazewell County Veterans enlisted with the program for the first time thanks to the outreach efforts of the staff within the office.
