PCHS Class of 2025 Says Goodbye

The Senior Class at Pekin Community High School (PCHS) graduates on May 16, 2025 at 7 pm on the football field. If it rains on this date, graduation will be hosted in the Hawkins gym.
Though graduating can be considered scary, many Seniors are excited to be moving on to their next chapters. Current Senior Gabrielle Gonzales was asked about her feelings on the upcoming event. “I am excited for graduation because it’s the moment that opens the door for the rest of my future.”
The Class of 2025 has a lot going for them in the future—kids going to college, starting their careers, and much more. Senior student Zoe Kormah has her plans set for after high school. “I plan on attending Illinois State University and majoring in Biochemistry. My future career goal is to become a pediatric dentist.”
Even for the students who don’t know exactly what their plans are, there are many local options for them to consider. PCHS teacher Jessica Norris shares her insight on this: “[Illinois Central College] ICC is a great option for students who aren’t sure what they want to do with their life yet. I went to ICC before I went to Illinois State University, and it is one of the best decisions that I have ever made.”
As the year is closing out and the 2025 Senior Class is preparing to leave the high school, staff and admin are excited for them to start their futures and share their Dragon Pride along the way.
Creative Writing teacher, April Berry, is especially proud to see this class graduate. “The class of 2025 was the first class that I taught at PCHS, so seeing this group of students moving on into the world is rewarding. I am happy to see them move on to achieve their dreams and aspirations.”
Congratulations to Pekin Community High School’s Class of 2025.
