New Year’s Resolutions: Where Do You Stand One Month Into 2025?

While everyone’s resolutions or goals vary, many people are driven by ideas like, “I want to give back,” “I want to get more involved,” or “I want to do something with—and for—others.” Maybe it’s as simple as, “I want to make new friends.” Joining a service club may be just the answer!
Pekin Rotary is our community’s oldest service club, now almost 103 years old (just weeks older than the Pekin Kiwanis Club). Over that time, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support local projects that help others. From the Pekin Mobile Diner to grants, scholarships, and more, we experience the joy and fulfillment that come from a devotion to serving others.
Pekin Rotary is part of Rotary International—one of the world’s most highly regarded philanthropic organizations. Beyond their nearly 40-year effort to eradicate polio from the world, Rotary International is also globally active in initiatives like water filtration, vocational training, providing handwashing stations, sewing equipment, medical supplies, livestock replacement, peace leadership training, and teacher education. Pekin Rotary is honored to contribute to these ongoing efforts.
Victor Frankl once said: “Success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue. And it only does so as the unintended side effect of one’s personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself.”
