Bible, Academic, and Fine Arts Competition

Students from Faith Baptist Christian School in Pekin recently competed in the Illinois Association of Christian Schools statewide Bible, Academic, and Fine Arts Competition. In addition to the groups that FBCS sent to compete in choral, instrumental, and speech categories, several students earned awards for their individual efforts.

Noelliah King was named State Champion in Bible Teaching and also earned Runner-Up in Religious Reading and 3rd Place in Landscape and Architectural Photography. Josh Blanchard was named State Champion in Topical Preaching. Kathleen Hegener earned State Champion honors in Humorous Interpretation. Charlette Swearingin placed 3rd in Textiles, and Grayson Sly earned 3rd Place in a Brass Solo. Two group events received state honors. A small vocal ensemble took 3rd place as well as a duet acting. 

Both Noelliah King and Josh Blanchard traveled to Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, to represent Illinois at the national competition for the American Association of Christian Schools.
