The class of 2026 commencement is on the horizon. This month, Pekin Community High School (PCHS) seniors will put on their caps and gowns and receive their diplomas. Depending on weather, the graduation ceremony will be held at Memorial Stadium on Friday, May 15th.
To commemorate the Class of 2026, PCHS is inviting the community to attend this exciting event. If weather permits, the ceremony will be open to the public. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the event will be in Hawkins Gym, where students will be given a limited number of tickets for friends and family.
To participate in graduation, students must have a minimum of 22.25 credits. Specifically, they need five elective credits, four credits of English, 3.5 of physical education, three of math, 2.5 of social studies, two of science, one of general studies, 0.5 of consumer education, and 0.25 of driver’s education.
Another requirement for graduation is that seniors must fill out the Free Application for Student Federal Aid, or FAFSA application. This application gives students opportunities to receive funding for college after high school.
The Class of 2026 has spent the past four years working very hard to reach this point. Congratulations to this year’s seniors. PCHS is excited to celebrate them and watch them begin their next chapter.
