Downtown Concert Series:
We are excited to host the Downtown Concert Series again this summer, on behalf of Discover Pekin. Bands have been selected by the City of Pekin Tourism Committee and will be featured during these fun Saturday evening events. On June 15, the 2nd Chance band will rock the downtown with classic hits. On August 24, Pekin’s own Brian Carroll and the Revel in Red band will bring a crowd, so come early. Finally, on September 28, we have two bands to close out the season — Mixtape Mayhem and Stone Cold Cowboys  Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for the show. Local restaurants would love to see you before the show. In addition, food and beverages vendors will be on site — these events are sure to be fun for everyone! 2024 Pekin Marigold Festival: 
Always the weekend after Labor Day, the 2024 Pekin Marigold Festival will be held on September 4–8. Returning events will include the classics like the Carnival, Art in the Park, Festive Foods, and many more. There will be new, returning, and theme-related events announced in the coming weeks. 3-on-3 Youth Basketball, Cardboard Boat Races, and an evening concert are all in the works. Each month, additional information will be provided in the Pekin Hometown Voice, on the Pekin Marigold Festival Facebook page, and also at www.pekinmarigoldfestival.com. 

Applications for the 2024 Miss Marigold Pageant will be accepted until June 7, 2024. The application can be found on the Miss Marigold Pageant Facebook page. There is no entry fee and the pageant is open to anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Pekin aged 16–22 and entering at least their senior year of high school. The pageant will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 7pm at Pekin Community High School. This scholarship pageant awards Miss Marigold a $3,000 scholarship. Pekin Marigold Festival merchandise will be available in waves this summer, leading up to the festival weekend. Online preorders will be made available each month on the Pekin Marigold Festival Facebook page. Merchandise will also be available at the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce office — Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 4pm. Grab your festival swag and represent our community’s favorite event.

Honor America Celebration: The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the continuation of the 4th of July “Honor America Celebration” fireworks display held at Pekin Memorial Stadium this summer. The Honor America Celebration is funded by members of the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Pekin Tourism, the Pekin business community, and donations from community members.

***Due to construction in and around Pekin Memorial Stadium, the stadium will be closed to spectators in 2024 and 2025. The Arena Parking lot will be used for VIP seating for sponsor ticket holders, wheelchair accessible seating, and a free General Admission area. Vehicles will not be allowed in this area.***

The display begins at nightfall on July 4th with a rain date the following evening.
