Pekin Rotary Supports Literacy With Grants and Bicentennial Books

The Pekin Rotary Club continues its strong commitment to literacy by awarding $3,000 in literacy grants to local area school districts, including Rankin, South Pekin, North Pekin, and Spring Lake, as well as private schools St. Joseph’s and Good Shepherd. These grants will provide new books for students, enriching their reading experiences and fostering a love of learning. By investing in literacy, Pekin Rotary is ensuring that children in the community have access to quality educational resources that support their academic growth and success.
In addition to the literacy grants, the Pekin Rotary Club donated two copies of the Pekin Bicentennial Pictorial: 1824-2024 to each school library, a contribution valued at $720. These books will serve as a lasting resource, allowing students to explore the rich history of Pekin while enhancing their research and reading skills. Through these initiatives, Pekin Rotary reaffirms its dedication to education and community service, making a lasting impact on the next generation of readers and learners.
