Bowen Gill Shines at Special Olympics Illinois Regional Qualifier

On Saturday, April 5th, Bowen Gill, a dedicated YWCA Special Olympics Sirens athlete, made waves at the Special Olympics Illinois Regional Qualifier held at the University of Illinois Activities and Recreation Center (ARC). Gill showcased his talent and determination in the swimming events, earning a Gold medal in the 50M Butterfly and a Silver medal in the 50M Freestyle.
These stellar performances secured Gill a spot in the upcoming Special Olympics Summer Games, which will take place in Bloomington-Normal this June. The event will gather athletes from across the state to compete and celebrate their achievements.
