Ribbon Cutting at Pekin Country Club, now under new ownership.

Celebrate Your Business With a Ribbon Cutting from the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce
The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses and organizations to mark their milestones with a ribbon-cutting ceremony — a memorable way to celebrate grand openings, anniversaries, relocations, or major renovations.

Chamber ribbon cuttings offer more than just a ceremonial photo. They provide a chance to showcase your business to the community, connect with Chamber members and local leaders, and gain promotional exposure through Chamber media outlets.

“We love celebrating our members and helping them share their story,” said Amy McCoy, Executive Director of the Chamber. “A ribbon cutting is a great way to make your mark and build community connections.”

Interested businesses can contact the Chamber office to schedule their event and take advantage of this meaningful moment in their business journey.

Miss Marigold Pageant to Shine Bright in Annual Celebration
The spotlight will be on grace, talent, and community spirit as the Miss Marigold Pageant returns on Saturday, August 9, at 7:00 pm. The event will be held at Pekin Community High School in the F.M. Peterson Theater and is sponsored by Dan Pfeifer State Farm.

A beloved tradition of the Pekin Marigold Festival, the pageant will feature local young women competing for the title of Miss Marigold 2025. Contestants will be judged on poise, interview skills, community involvement, and evening wear.

Hosted by the Pekin Marigold Festival Committee, the event not only celebrates individual achievement but also honors the legacy of civic pride in Everett McKinley Dirksen’s hometown.

The winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship and will serve as an ambassador for the 2025 Marigold Festival, themed “Marigold Pep Rally: Team Spirit,”. Miss Marigold will represent Pekin at events throughout the year.

The public is invited to attend and cheer on this year’s outstanding candidates as they take the stage in one of the festival’s most cherished traditions. Tickets may be purchased at www.pekinchamber.com/miss-marigold-pageant.

Marigold Golf Outing Tees Up Community Fun and Support
The annual Marigold Golf Outing crews looks forward to a swinging success once again as community members and local businesses come together for a day of friendly competition, networking, and support for the Pekin Marigold Festival.

Held at Lick Creek Golf Course, the outing welcomes teams from across the region, all teeing off with enthusiasm and a shared love for Pekin’s signature celebration. Golfers will enjoy 18 holes of play, fun on-course games, and a variety of prizes donated by local sponsors.

Hosted by the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce, the outing helps raise funds for the upcoming 2025 Marigold Festival, themed “Marigold Pep Rally: Team Spirit.” Proceeds go toward festival programming, entertainment, and community engagement activities.

“This event is a great way to bring the community together while helping us build momentum for the Marigold Festival,” said Amy McCoy, Executive Director of the Chamber. “We appreciate the generosity and spirit of everyone who participates.”

As the excitement builds for the festival in September, the Marigold Golf Outing reminds us that teamwork, tradition, and hometown pride are always par for the course in Pekin.
