The Pekin Marigold Festival Committee is excited to announce that Brian Carroll has been selected as the 2026 Pekin Marigold Festival Grand Marshal and to unveil details for one of this year’s featured attractions, the Roots & Boots Dragon Jam, which will kick off festival weekend on Friday, September 11, 2026.

A familiar face throughout Central Illinois, Brian Carroll has dedicated his life to strengthening the community through volunteerism, charitable work, music, and civic engagement. His years of service to the Pekin Marigold Festival and countless local organizations make him a fitting choice to serve as this year’s Grand Marshal.

Carroll has long been a champion of the Marigold Festival, serving as emcee of the Miss Marigold Pageant and co-emcee of the Marigold Festival Parade alongside Mark Matthews. He also worked alongside the festival committee in developing and promoting Dragon Jam in 2024 and again this year, helping transform it into one of the festival’s signature events.

“Brian Carroll represents the heart and spirit of the Pekin Marigold Festival,” said festival organizers. “His dedication to our community, his support of charitable causes, and his passion for preserving hometown traditions have made a lasting impact on countless lives.”

Beyond the festival, Carroll has served as a St. Jude Pekin to Peoria Runs Coordinator since 2015, helping lead one of the region’s most meaningful fundraising efforts. Through his music and community involvement, he has supported numerous charitable organizations, church ministries, and local fundraisers, often donating his time and talents to help others.

As the festival celebrates its 2026 theme, “Marigold Roots & Country Boots,” organizers are inviting the community to kick off the weekend with an unforgettable evening of live entertainment at the Roots & Boots Dragon Jam.
