Five Year Fest Celebrates Local Authors

TAiLS of a Bookworm, a non-profit Pekin bookstore, announces its Five-Year Fest to celebrate its fifth anniversary on Saturday, May 11 from 10am until 5pm. The event showcases over forty unique authors and vendors.
Last Fall, TAiLS unveiled a new kitten room. Far from an ordinary bookstore, TAiLS raises money for local animal shelters and rescues in need. While browsing a great selection of new and used books, customers can also visit the kittens up for adoption. Plus, it has a huge collection of unique gifts perfect for any occasion.
Earlier this month, TAiLS co-owner Chad Kautz earned a highly competitive James Patterson Bookstore Award, honoring the exceptional work TAiLS does for the community.
Over twenty local authors, representing a genre for everyone, will attend. Author Joe Chianakas, recently featured in over 200 papers nationwide for his LGBTQ bestseller Singlets and Secrets, will be among the twenty-plus authors. Twenty other vendors will feature art, merchandise, food, and more. While you visit the kitten room inside, the Peoria Humane Society will also be attending with adoptable dogs after 1pm.
TAiLS of a Bookworm is located at 2936 Court Street in Sunset Plaza.
