School is back in full swing at Pekin High: the smell of freshly sharpened pencils, the squeak of new Expo markers on a whiteboard, and the elated chatter among students fill our hallways once again.

As we continue to support students and their families, Pekin High has adopted a late start schedule each Wednesday for school improvement with class beginning at 10am for high school students. Please make note of the following important dates:

• Monday, September 2: Labor Day – No School
• Wednesdays – Sept. 4, 11, 18, 25: Period 1 Begins @10am.

With the start of the 2024-2025 school year, so, too, begin our exciting opportunities, including fall athletics and activities. Come out and support our students as they build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and create a brighter, stronger community.

• Saturday, September 7: Girls’ Tennis Dragon Tournament at 8:30am.
• Mark your calendars for this year’s Blackout Game on Friday, September 20, in support of Easterseals. T-shirts are on sale now.
• Looking ahead, Homecoming and Distinguished Alumni Night is Friday, October 4.
