The annual event brought together business leaders, community members, and local officials to honor organizations and individuals making a lasting impact in the Pekin area.

This year’s Business of the Year award was presented to Cullinan Properties, recognized for its continued investment in the region and its commitment to driving economic growth and opportunity. Cullinan Properties has long played a key role in developing thriving business and retail spaces that support local jobs and community vitality.

The Small Business of the Year honor went to Dan Pfeifer State Farm, a business known for its outstanding customer service and deep community involvement. From supporting local events to helping families find security and peace of mind, Dan Pfeifer and his team exemplify what it means to be a trusted local partner.

The Business Leader of the Year award was presented to Victoria Smith, whose leadership, innovation, and dedication to community service have made a remarkable difference in Pekin. Smith was recognized not only for her professional achievements, but also for her passion for mentoring others and giving back through volunteerism.

Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy McCoy shared her gratitude for the honorees and the community’s continued support. “This luncheon is a celebration of the people and businesses who work every day to make Pekin stronger,” McCoy said. “Each award winner reflects the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and service that defines our community.”

Support Local—Shop Small in Pekin This Holiday Season
As the holiday season approaches, the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging residents to make a big impact by shopping small and supporting local businesses. Every dollar spent locally helps strengthen Pekin’s economy, create jobs, and keep our community vibrant.

When you shop at a locally owned store, dine at a neighborhood restaurant, or use a local service, you’re not just purchasing a product—you’re investing in your community. Small businesses give back in countless ways, from sponsoring youth sports teams to donating to local fundraisers and events.

“This season, we hope everyone will think local first,” said Amy McCoy, Executive Director of the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce. “The businesses here in Pekin work hard all year to serve our community. Shopping local is one of the best ways to show your support and help them thrive.”

The Chamber invites shoppers to explore the many unique boutiques, restaurants, and service providers that make Pekin special. Whether you’re hunting for the perfect holiday gift, planning a festive meal, or treating yourself after a long day, Pekin’s small businesses have something for everyone.
