Pekin Area Chamber Members Support Dragon’s Closet with Holiday Break Donations
The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce and its member businesses recently came together to support local students by donating 200 Holiday Break bags to Dragon’s Closet, a Pekin Community High School resource dedicated to assisting students in need.
The Holiday Break bags were assembled and donated by Chamber members to help ensure students have access to essential food and items during school breaks, when many families experience added challenges. Each bag is intended to provide support and peace of mind for students over the holiday period.
Dragon’s Closet serves as an important safety net within Pekin Community High School, offering food, clothing, and basic necessities to students facing food insecurity or financial hardship. Community partnerships, such as those fostered through the Chamber, play a vital role in sustaining the program’s mission.
“This initiative reflects the generosity and compassion of our Chamber members,” said Executive Director Amy McCoy. “Our business community is committed to supporting the well-being of students and families in Pekin, especially during the holiday season.”
The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce regularly engages its members in service-driven initiatives that strengthen the community and support local organizations. The Holiday Break bag donation is one of many efforts aimed at making a positive impact throughout the year.
