The Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Sorority for women educators, will award both the Alpha Theta and the Pauline Phelps Memorial Scholarship this year each for $500. The Pauline Phelps scholarship was established by her family in her memory. She was a past president of Alpha Delta Kappa and taught special education in East Peoria and Pekin. The Alpha Theta scholarship is given by the local chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary teacher’s sorority.

College students who are sophomore or junior education majors may apply. Applicants will be asked to provide background information, a college transcript, a photo, a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, and a written statement giving the reasons for choosing a career in education.
