The Pekin Hometown Voice

YWCA of Pekin’s Early Learning Center

The YWCA of Pekin’s Early Learning Center continues to be a vital part of early childhood care and education in Tazewell County. With a focus on community support and high-quality programming, the center serves families and children at 315 Buena Vista Ave., Pekin, providing care for infants to preschool-aged children (6 weeks to 5 years old).

Led by Early Learning Center Director Meredith Kerley, who assumed her role in 2023 after years of dedicated service, the center prioritizes nurturing environments and professional growth for educators. Staff members possess a variety of early childhood education credentials, with many pursuing further training to enhance their expertise.

With educators who bring extensive experience and a commitment to fostering emotional, social, and cognitive development, their dedication aligns with the center’s mission to prepare children for school readiness and lifelong learning.

Affordable and Supportive Care for Families

The Early Learning Center offers various payment options, including state subsidy programs such as Child Care Connection and DCFS funding, along with private pay, to make early childhood care more accessible to families in the region.
