The YWCA Pekin’s Coalition for Equality invites you to attend its annual “Until Justice Just Is,” event, a YWCA USA initiative. This year’s theme, “Democracy in Progress: Voting Rights 250,” invites participants to remember the history of America’s voting rights struggle—from the 15th and 19th amendments to the 1965 Voting Rights Act to the present challenges to voting rights. Participants will be treated to an informative retrospective of these struggles and successes—most of which involved the effective use of peaceful protest (such as sit-ins and marches). Interactive activities, such as marching around the lagoon, will accompany the presentation.

This free event will be held on Friday, April 24 from 6pm to 7pm at the Mineral Springs Park Pavilion. Light refreshments will be served.
