Spring is right around the corner! Mark your calendars for these important dates, and be sure to follow us on social media to get more up-to-the-minute information.

Academics

It’s Scholarship Season! Seniors should visit the Counseling Office to learn more about the vast array of scholarships available to them, which can be used for 2-year colleges, 4-year colleges, trade schools, and many other post-high school options. There are thousands of dollars worth of scholarship opportunities available to the class of 2026. Students can find scholarships by visiting the PCHS Counseling website or bit.ly/PCHS-Scholarship-Database. PCHS Local Scholarships are due March 18th.

The Counseling Office will offer another scholarship workshop on March 3rd during advisory. Students can stop by to pick up tips and tricks or to get help with specific applications. Students should make sure to talk to their counselor if they have any questions!

The PreACT and ACT will be administered on March 26. All students will receive time to practice question types and learn more about the exam during advisories toward the middle and end of the month. For those who are interested in more support, please check out the announcements for more study session opportunities.

Athletics and Extracurricular

For our Dragon athletes interested in participating in spring sports, be sure to check with the Athletic Director’s Office to ensure you have your materials submitted before try-outs begin. For game schedules, please visit our athletics website at https://schools.snap.app/pekinhs/calendar.

Work-based Learning & Other Opportunities

Our Opportunity Board offers enriched learning opportunities at other higher educational institutions and job-related training at local businesses. These opportunities can vary in age, ranging from 14 years old and up and are updated regularly. If this interests you, please contact Mr. Steger at [email protected]

If you are an employer looking for employees, send the posting along with age requirements to Mr. Steger, and he will post it on our job posting board.

  • Send it in now to be ready for Work-Based Learning possibilities and those soon-to-be graduates looking for their first rung on their career ladder.
  • We will host a Job Fair on April 28, so if you are looking for summer hires or to hire upcoming graduates, be sure to talk with Mrs. Jennifer Anderson at [email protected] or Mr. Steger at [email protected].
